Differing opinions

I have two wonderful and close friends who have varying levels of faith in me.

Leah–professional farmer, certified food police, and out-of-this-world caterer–doesn’t trust me to bring anything but water, albeit fizzy water, when I come to her house for dinner.

Andrea on the other hand, trusts me to bake her a couple of wedding cakes.

Hmmm …

Still not a professional baker …

Just realized why last week’s bundt cake test-run turned out a bit on the burned side.

Turns out I was supposed to set the oven to 350 degrees, not 450 degrees.

I think I’m finally starting to learn the importance of a thorough recipe read-through before baking.

Thanks for the garlic press!

Registering for your wedding is great fun; getting stuff is even better!

I was trying to get Mike to admit how much he was enjoying using our new garlic press (which he wouldn’t do). However, after one small taste of the fajitas, it was quite clear that he was a fan. Anyone who I inadvertently breath on sometime in the next three months will know that he likes it a lot!

Waistin’ Time

So I recently had a friend (Ms. Cassy Bohnet) measure my bust, butt and waist in prep for weddin’ dress huntin’.

Apparently my waist is 27 1/2 inches in girth. Scarlett O’Hara’s waist size was a mere 17 inches.

I’m not sure how I feel about that.

Then again, she is fictional.

And my love of dessert is not fictional.

Update on the Boulder engagement

So about that blog about me not being engaged … I actually wrote that roughly one month ago-when I wasn’t engaged-and scheduled it to post in the future. Unfortunately, I posted it a bit too far in the future.

Ooops.

A big thanks to our dear, worried friends who alerted me to the error. We are in fact engaged. And we’re both pretty darn stoked.
